“WHY” Do We Need To Make Goals?

We all have a tendency to set goals in some form or fashion on most days. Some are realistic, most are not, and many are worthless because we do not follow through. We have a bunch of excuses; we procrastinate, or simply give up. Those who have a clear Purpose in Life are driven and know the power and benefits of goal setting, which helps shape their Life to fulfill hopes and dreams. It will allow for planning their future and creating a path of Purpose that may very well turn out to be their ultimate destiny. I am talking about goals that inspire you. Not the mundane goals ofgetting through the day without drama, making sure you pay the electric bill, or clean the house. I am talking about the power of goals that fills you with passion so that you have a reason to get up early and stay up late. These goals will expand you as a human being and as a child of God. Setting goals drive you to serve with a Purpose. Done effectively and efficiently, goals will transform your Life for the better, and perhaps prepare you for eternity.

S.M.A.R.T.E.R goals are very: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely, Engaging, and Righteous. So, let us break this down a little so that you can get a sense of connection with your own emotional dashboard. Do not get caught up in a dream beyond your true reach with your God given talents, skills, and capabilities. I am personally not a big fan of luck and coincidences, but a true believer in inspiration, perspiration, and the will of God-incidences. I am not saying do not dream big, or go after something incredible in your Life. I am just saying that if you have never run a marathon before and you are just starting to jog your first mile, and you are 50 pounds overweight, do not expect to run a marathon full out in one month. You may want to train for 6-12 months so that you do not injure yourself. Be S.M.A.R.T.E.R than that.
